Strippers Picnic

Chicago

Run of the mill improv? Hardly. Not satisfied to get by as one of the best-looking improv teams in Chicago, Strippers' Picnic prides itself on presenting strong thematic improvised journeys in their long form sets. The untitled form is best described as a montage love child of the Harold and the Deconstruction. While Strippers' Picnic shows are scenically based, expect that anything can and will happen including monologues, a cappella songs, or even an improvised ballet. The results are funny and smart, pretentious, and often delirious and twisted.

Strippers' Picnic is a team composed of seven veteran improvisers who have been performing regularly together since September 2007. Students of iO, The Annoyance Theater, and Second City's Conservatory, they have performed at nearly every Chicago establishment. They love performing road shows with over two-dozen performances outside the City By the Lake.

Improv Royale

Austin

Improv Royale is a group of wrestlers who have taken improv level 1, and now wish to display their skills for a captive audience. Expect heel turns, people being hit with chairs, submission holds, dirty tricks, and strong emotional relationships.

The members of Improv Royale have traveled around the country, winning various world heavyweight championships and delighting fans with displays of superior strength and charisma. Upon taking their first improv class, they low-blowed the instructor and proceeded to introduce him to previously unexplored realms of the pain universe. They then declared themselves improv champions and decided to do shows. If you have a problem with that, cross the line and tell them to their faces.

But seriously, the members of Improv Royale are well known for their performing skill and have received honorable mentions in Austin's major publications. They belong to such revered troupes as The Frank Mills, Midnight Society, and the Coldtowne Mainstage. When they are together, they know how to have a good time; with beer... and baby powder.
