Movie Riot

Improv – Austin, TX

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

Movie Riot is a team of movie-loving improviser friends from Austin. Taking an audience member's suggestion of a song lyric, and then using a lifetime of filed-away movie tropes, camera angles, edits and references, Movie Riot's members first weave a genre and mood, then explode into a high energy ride, creating a movie from beginning to end.

Movie Riot has been performing a weekly show at ColdTowne Theater for over a year. In that time, they've become known as one of the fastest, smartest troupes at their home theater, performing in arguably one of the most difficult but satisfying formats in long form improv.

Your Dad’s Friends is featuring a brand new show called, “Real Police”. The premise is based on the HBO show “True Detective” in which a crime story is told through interviews and flashbacks. YDF will get to the bottom of all cold cases!

YDF is a group of seasoned Austin Imps that have been playing together for a decade or longer. They focus on audience-oriented improv, always striving to keep the audience involved in the show. A YDF show is usually fast-paced and at times absurd, but always satisfying.
