Improv – Austin, TX

Every woman has a secret, none more so than the women who lay everything bare in Hurly Burly, an Improvised Burlesque Story. In each show, you'll follow the intriguing life of a burlesque dancer, fighting for her chance to make her moves on stage and in life. Hurly Burly takes you behind the scenes into her daily pleasures and pitfalls while she sashays through the world of burlesque and eventually finds her place in front of the footlights.

Hurly Burly: Improvised Burlesque Stories is the brainchild of Austin-area improviser Jayme Ramsey. With help from her co-director, Marc Majcher, the duo cast and produced a show that ran at the Institution Theater in May and June of 2014.

Since it opened, Hurly Burly has sold out every performance and has been featured in the Austin Chronicle's "The Good Eye" by Amy Gentry. Hurly Burly was also honored to participate in an hour of the Hideout Theatre's 45-Hour Improv Marathon this June.

Improv – Austin, TX

Using games, scenes and radical storytelling techniques, eight of Austin’s most accomplished improvisers will create a never-before-seen-and-never-to-be-seen-again play. Each night is a different audience-suggested title, guaranteeing a completely different show each week — expect playfulness, vulnerability, inspiration and the infinite possibility of improvisation. And because this is modern American drama at its most thrilling and unpredictable, expect to see a little more skin than you might at a run-of-the-mill improv show.
We’re blowing the doors off improvised theater and blurring the distinction between comedy and art, between audience and performer, between wearing clothes and not wearing clothes.
Come experience history in the making.
