The Amazon & The Milksop

Improv – Austin, TX

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

Kaci Beeler and Curtis Luciani are two Austin improvisers who like to make the people laugh, squirm, think, cry and experience other wonderful and/or troubling things. They frequently explore gender and relationships in their improvisation while delighting, surprising, and disgusting each other as much as they possibly can.

TA&TM have been performing regularly in Austin since 2009, including two month-long residences and a premier Stargazer Series production at The Hideout Theatre. Their Fitzgeralds For Hire show won them a “Best of Fest” accolade at the 2011 FronteraFest Fringe Festival. They have directed and starred in various shows together throughout the years including Who Is T. Henry Baudecliffe?, Blood, Sweat, and Cheers, Charles Dickens Unleashed, Improvised Shakespeare, and Holy 1960s Batman, Batman! Kaci and Curtis both performed in the core cast of the notorious 40 and 41 hour improv marathons at The Hideout Theatre.

Dog and Friend Dog

Improv – Kansas City, MO

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

Dog & Friend Dog is a series of short-form scenes and games designed to be high energy and fast-paced. The segments range from simple scenes between, say, a psychiatrist and his patient, to improvised songs with live accompaniment, to strange little happenings where the show stops and the duo has an argument in the audience. They develop new games every month; the goal always being to bring a crowd something they haven't seen before with maximum entertainment value. The humor is light-hearted, intelligent, and utterly absurd.

Dog & Friend Dog is the Kansas City based improv duo of platonic life-partners Brian Huther and Ben Auxier. For the last year they have been regularly performing and developing new shows, and hold the title of 4-time champions of the Underground Throwdown Comedy Competition in KC. In addition to being improvisors, Brian Huther is a playwright and poet, and Ben Auxier creates video content. Both are musicians and work as professional actors; and their respective backgrounds and passions constantly compel them to create more and more novel, theatrical, and purely entertaining shows.

Nerdvana

Improv – Los Angeles, CA

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

With just two dudes and a dictionary, NERDVANA creates a two person improv set akin to sitting down with Neil deGrasse Tyson to play Mike Tyson's Punch Out. It's a fully improvised sandwich of memory and The Minutemen, Daffy Duck and deep insights, with a dash of southern charm and whatever comes from marinating in Los Angeles.

Over nearly a decade after meeting at Second City Los Angeles, Nerdvana (Chris Compton and Stephen C. James) has performed all over the country, written for television shows that featured former Star Wars cast members, and been a part of projects from feature films and Korean internet commercials. They're anchored to a steadfast belief in playing to the top of your intelligence, both emotional and intellectual.
