Smaranda Luna is an Eastern-European stand up, actress, improviser and writer. She immigrated to the United States on a Fulbright scholarship after completing the program at the National Drama Conservatory in her home city of Bucharest, Romania. While getting her MFA in Acting from the University of Texas at Austin, she was the recipient of the Austin Critics Table Award for Best Actress. She currently resides in Los Angeles where she acts; writes and performs stand up and is the co-artistic director of the Mixtape Theatre Company, a small theatrical collective dedicated to promoting New Works. Smaranda has also studied and performed Improv all over the world (most recently at UCB L.A and IO WEST) and is fluent in Romanian, French, and conversational in Spanish.
Some of her Film and TV credits include: the TV Series Harley and the Davidsons, the feature Closer to the Moon (opposite Vera Farmiga and Mark Strong), the Romanian short film Trafic (Golden Palm at Cannes) and the feature Play II by Hammer Resident Artist Dara Friedman.
