Spider Dance

Melbourne, Minneapolis, etc...

Described as "beautiful women doing ugly things, Spider Dance is inspired by the infamous act of the same name, performed by burlesque dancer Lola Montez during the Gold Rush. This short form equivalent of flashing your knickers, aims to bring out the bold side of even the most delicate lady improviser and sees its creator joyfully abandon the carefully crafted narratives that Impro Melbourne is renowned for.

Joining Anna in this cheeky, playful and possibly Australian Folklore filled spectacle will be three special guests. Ladies, of course.

Anna Renzenbrink has been performing with Australia's leading improvised theatre company, Impro Melbourne for over 9 years. An audience favorite, Anna is known for her vibrant, playful and left-field style, which leaves you feeling that all is right (yet a little bit wrong) with the world. Whether playing short or long form, Anna consistently creates strong characters, most often inspired by her love of literature, history and trivia gleaned from the Internet. This year she has performed with Impro Melbourne in their Melbourne International Comedy Festival show 'Stuck in the Middle,' 'Theatresports,' and the noir style 'Fat City.' Anna was recently honoured with the peer nominated "In the Moment" Award at Improvention (Canberra's International Improvisation Festival) in July 2012 for her memorable performances throughout the festival.

This will be the first time Anna has been to Out of Bounds and is the culmination of a whirlwind trip to the USA centered almost entirely on visiting Dollywood!
