Cast:Chelsea Coleman, Jason Horton

Los Angeles, CA

Two People, One Tiny Brain. Jason Horton and Chelsea Coleman have been performing this show since 2008. Shows range from fast-paced varied scenes about Paula Abdul and survivors of drowning, to long, slow, mono-scenes about plumbing and rockstars re-living their youth.

They're not sure what they'll do in Austin. They can only promise Jason will be funny, and Chelsea will also be there.

Nominated for "Best Loft Show" in the 2010 Los Angeles "Del Close Awards." Jason Horton is known for his fast-paced, break-all-the-rules, bad-boy style of improv. Chelsea is known for loving the tragic and dramatic. Together, they try to push each other's comfort zones and play like they don't on any other team.

Austin, Texas

Checkbook is an improv show comprised of six ladies all hailing from The New Movement. The show starts with an audience suggestion, and each performer will create a character and deliver a monologue based around that suggestion. From there we go into a loose La Ronde (meaning closely but necessarily always followed) and finish the show with montage scenes, all while remaining the same character and occasionally adding peripheral characters to the mix. The format tends to lend a strong narrative aspect similar to monoscenes but without the time/space restrictions.

Checkbook formed in 2011 and the members all have studied under The New Movement Theater. In February 2011 Checkbook performed in Frontera Fest in Austin, TX. Checkbook has performed monthly at TNM in Austin and performed the opening weekend show for TNM New Orleans in March 2012.

Miller and Purselley

Miller and Purselley is a two person improv group that looks to tell a story. They explore the narratives of everyday life, concentrating on the intricacies and nuance of grounded characters and the truth of those lives in the moment. They seek the story that's already happening on stage and with the audience and follow it. Half of the vaunted group Venn Diaphragm, Nat Miller and Pierce Purselley have gotten attention in Austin for their grounded play and fun chemistry.
