CheckbookAustin, TexasCheckbook is an improv show comprised of six ladies all hailing from The New Movement. The show starts with an audience suggestion, and each performer will create a character and deliver a monologue based around that suggestion. From there we go into a loose La Ronde (meaning closely but necessarily always followed) and finish the show with montage scenes, all while remaining the same character and occasionally adding peripheral characters to the mix. The format tends to lend a strong narrative aspect similar to monoscenes but without the time/space restrictions. |

Miller and PurselleyAustinMiller and Purselley is a two person improv group that looks to tell a story. They explore the narratives of everyday life, concentrating on the intricacies and nuance of grounded characters and the truth of those lives in the moment. They seek the story that's already happening on stage and with the audience and follow it. Half of the vaunted group Venn Diaphragm, Nat Miller and Pierce Purselley have gotten attention in Austin for their grounded play and fun chemistry. Edit Troupe Info |
