The Knuckleball Now

Austin, Texas

TKN takes you into a frenzy of quick scenes that will create a data base of characters, scenarios and most importantly, a momentum that steamrolls into callbacks and spinoffs. Once the show is rolling, TKN will not shy away from surreal worlds and down to Earth, heartfelt situations. Infectious fun will overflow from the stage onto the audience, leaving the audience with a set of abs that have been activated through laughter... 6 packs for all (or most).

Creators of a format they call "Peak & Pop"... they often get inspiration by asking for "the last text you received", then its lights down... When the lights come up, the Ballers will fire through a series of scenes, perhaps even only one line long, while building up a contagious energy and a bank of characters and story ideas. Once the show is off and rolling, the scenes become longer and deeper... The edits and wipes are quick, organic, and often spin off into flashbacks or flash forwards, and "What ifs." They have been staples in the OOB fest and Wafflefest since TKN's inception in 2004.

Butt Kapinski

Los Angeles, CA

There has been a murder in this stinking town, and everyone is a suspect. And if you're not a suspect, you might be a car, or a stripper pole. Join Butt Kapinski, poet-detective, in this interactive noir comedy-fantasia. We are all part of the darkness.

Deanna Fleysher is a (non-scary) clown, teacher, and director. Trained in Lecoq-style clown, bouffon, improv comedy and physical theater, she created Foreplay, an erotic improv comedy show which ran for a year at the People's Improv Theater in NY and was featured at the Chicago Improv Festival, and Echo, an improvised rock ballet which ran as a repertory show at NY's Magnet Theater. She created, produced and starred in Kill Me Loudly: A Clown Noir and The Kapinski Private Eye Academy at the NY Clown Theatre Festival. As Butt Kapinski, she performed at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Galapagos, and many other joints around NY. For the past two years, she has been the director and co-writer of Red Bastard, the internationally-acclaimed bouffon show. A recent transplant to Los Angeles, she is artist-in-residence at Artworks Theatre, where she runs the Naked Comedy Lab.
