David Lampe has been a pillar of the Austin and San Marcos improv scenes for decades. From his time as a pivotal member of Monks' Night Out, to being a jobber for the OxyMorons, and an original cast member of Austin Theatresports (now The Hideout Theatre), all the way up to now where he is affectionately known as the guy who can't say no to joining anything, David is tall. Some attribute his can't-say-no attitude to his old age, creeping in as a desperation to cling to a past where he was the bomb in social situations and could just barely get by on stage. Some say it's just plain old meddle. Any way you slice it, we love Lampe and we love how desperate he is. Come see his pals mock him mercilessly in the name of good fun.
Think of it as his funeral, cuz let's face it, we all could stand to rehearse before his actual funeral, which should be arriving any day now.
